Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled OT interventions in home health settings, under an OT's supervision. You will document visits, monitor patient progress, and coordinate with caregivers and the care team.

Requirements include an OT assistant license in the state, ACOTE accreditation, NBCOT eligibility, and CPR certification. A valid year of OTA experience is preferred; mentoring is available for those new to the field.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program ACOTE accredited.
• Eligible to take NBCOT entry-level certification exam.
• One year related occupational therapy assistant experience preferred; if less, approval from regional clinical leaders and mentoring.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Documents each visit per AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Observes and reports patient response and condition changes to the supervising OT and clinical staff.
• Provides resources for future ADL/IADL needs for patients/caregivers.
• Promotes wellness and engagement in daily activities; stays updated on OT trends.
• Represents the service in coordination with the care center that admitted the patient.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
