Job summary

Amedisys Home Health is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team in a full-time daytime role. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist, perform skilled interventions, and document visits per guidelines.

Mileage reimbursement and other benefits are provided. The position requires an OTA license in the state, ACOTE-accredited OTA training, NBCOT eligibility, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the assigned state.
• Graduate of an OTA program ACOTE-accredited by ACOTE (AOTA).
• Eligible to take or have completed NBCOT entry-level certification.
• One year related OTA experience to ensure safe service delivery.
• If less than one year, regional leadership approval and mentoring/residency program required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist as per plan of care.
• Documents each visit according to AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Observes and reports patient response and change in condition to supervising OT and medical staff.
• Provides resources to patients and caregivers for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness and engagement in daily activities.
• Keeps knowledge up to date on OT trends and care coordination.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations with the care center.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
