Job summary

Gardens Home Health is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide in-home patient care across the San Diego area, including La Mesa and Coronado. The LVN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and deliver nursing care per LVN scope of practice.

Required California LVN or RN license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of professional nursing experience. Preferred IV/care with central lines and wound care using negative pressure devices. Per diem coverage area.

Qualifications

• California LVN or RN license is required and active.
• BLS certification is required at hire.
• 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in patients' homes under RN supervision.
• Perform nursing tasks within LVN scope of practice and ensure patient comfort.
• Document care plans and communicate changes to supervising RN.

Licensed Vocational Nurse

The Home Health Licensed Vocational Nurse provides direct patient care in a patient’s place of residence under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides nursing care within the scope of practice for licensed vocational nursing and accepts responsibility of individual nursing actions, competence, decisions and behavior in the course of vocational nursing practice.

Required qualifications:

Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement. Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License/ California Vocational Nursing License National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 1-year Professional nursing experience.

Preferred qualifications:

IV and Central lines experience. Experience with wound care including use of negative pressure devices.
