Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide in-home care across shifts in the United States. The role involves verifying plans of care, collaborating with physicians and RNs, and teaching patients and caregivers self-care techniques while performing essential nursing duties at patients’ homes.

The position offers full-time hours, benefits, and a range of compensation based on location and patient needs.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; notify them if patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
