About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Home Health Aides (HHAs) or Caregivers to provide private duty care for a kind, soft-spoken woman transitioning from Mary Free Bed to her home in Kalamazoo. The role involves 24/7 support, including personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities. A licensed nurse will be present on shift to support the aide.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mobility and transfers to prevent falls.
• Provide basic personal care, including hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
• Monitor and assist with oxygen therapy as needed.
• Prepare light snacks or drinks if requested.
• Offer companionship and reassurance during shifts.
• Assist with positioning and turning to prevent discomfort.
• Document and report any changes in condition.
• Respond promptly to emergencies.
• Perform duties as per the patient's care plan.
• Monitor physical and mental condition, intake/output, and exercise.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment.
• Assist with daily activities like dressing or bathing.
• Follow professional standards, policies, and legal requirements.

Qualifications

• CNA, HHA, or equivalent home care experience preferred.
• Experience with fall-risk patients and mobility assistance desirable.
• Ability to provide compassionate personal care.
• Reliable, patient, attentive to client needs.
• Comfortable working in private homes.
• Independent worker, capable of following care plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient with computers/tablets and software.
• Strong patient service skills.
• Detail-oriented, able to follow protocols.
• Ability to address minor medical issues.

• Valid Driver's License
• Valid CPR Certification
• Background Check
• Negative TB test results
