Sandcastle Homecare seeks a compassionate Caregiver to join our home care team in Florida. The caregiver will provide essential personal care and support to clients under supervision, observe client responses to care, and document findings for the supervisor.

You will assist with ADLs and some IADLs, monitor vital signs, and promote movement to prevent complications. The role requires reliable attendance and a patient, empathetic approach.

• Assists with ADLs as needed (bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, continence, mobility and transfers).
• Assists with IADLs as needed (food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, medication management).
• Measures and records physiological characteristics (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height, weight).
• Encourages movement to prevent skin breakdown and repositions clients as needed.
• Reports observable changes in a client’s condition to the supervisor.
• Performs general care (light housekeeping, meal prep, meal clean-up, laundry, linens).
• Follows infection control and Universal Precautions.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Protects client rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Responds to emergencies promptly and appropriately.
• Uses equipment safely.
• Shows empathetic, caring approach to client needs.
• Adheres to Time and Attendance guidelines and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Jobbeschreibung

The Caregiver is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Office Manager and Administrator, and performs many personal care services essential to meet the client's needs. The Caregiver is responsible for observing clients and their response to care, and documenting and reporting these observations. The Caregiver also maintains a working, communicative relationship with the supervisor to ensure that Sandcastle is providing quality care, and that its effects on the client are beneficial.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provides client care as directed by the assigned supervisor.
• Provides assistance with ADLs, if necessary (e.g. bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, continence, mobility and transfers).
• Provides assistance with IADLs, if necessary (e.g. food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, medication management).
• Measures and records physiological characteristics (e.g. temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height, weight).
• Actively encourages movement which helps prevent skin breakdown, or turns and repositions clients who are unable to move themselves.
• Reports to the assigned supervisor any observable changes in a client's physical, mental and/or emotional condition.
• Performs general care if necessary (e.g. light housekeeping, meal preparation, meal clean-up, washing, changing and making bed linens).
• Follows principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
• Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Ensures client's rights are adhered to, including the right to privacy and dignity while care is being provided, the right to accept or refuse care, and the right to confidentiality of their information.
• Responds rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Uses equipment properly and in a safe manner.
• Recognizes the client's needs in an empathetic, caring way.
• Adheres to Time and Attendance guidelines and follows the work schedule as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
