Responsibilities for Internal Candidates

The Home Health Aide provides patients with in-home personal care and health-related services to support their physical and emotional well-being. This is done following the written plan of care, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and agency policies.

• Follow the aide assignment sheet to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting
• Perform incidental household services necessary for the patient's health care at home to prevent or delay institutionalization
• Complete a clinical note for each visit within required timeframes for the patient's record
• Provide care according to the aide plan of care and in accordance with State Practice Act and regulations

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Successful completion of a competency evaluation
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation

Additional State Specific Requirements

• FL: Completion of at least forty hours of training or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007)

Skill Requirements

• Mature and capable of handling the demands of the home health aide role
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions accurately
