Job summary

Optum's DFW Home Health in Texas is seeking a dedicated home health aide to support clients with daily living activities and health monitoring. You will document observations and communicate with the agency leadership while providing compassionate in-home care.

This role requires a current driver’s license, CPR certification, and the ability to work flexible hours. A comprehensive benefits package is provided for eligible employees.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing in bed, tub or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including peri care and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair. Transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode and toilet
  • Reports observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager
  • Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required

Required Qualifications:
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours and independently
  • Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
State-Specific Requirements:
  • TX: Must have a minimum of one-year full-time experience in direct client care in hospital or nursing facility, OR one year full- time experience within last 5 years in direct client care in agency setting, OR documented completion of training and competency evaluation program with home health experience within the last 24 months, OR documented completion of competency evaluation program with home health experience within the last 24 months, OR nursing student with documentation from director of programs or the dean of a school of nursing that states that the individual is a nursing student who has demonstrated competency in basic nursing skills aligned with the school's curriculum, OR be on Texas Department of Human Services (DHS's) Nurse Aide Registry with no findings of client abuse or neglect or misappropriation of client property. Must NOT be listed on the Employee Misconduct Registry, been revoked on the Nurse Aide Registry, or had a criminal conviction as listed in Health and Safety Code Chapter 250
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of home care experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $14.00 to $23.50 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
