Job summary

PurposeCare in Ohio is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides/CNAs to join our growing home health team. You will provide personal care, support daily living activities, and help patients stay safe and independent in their own homes.

We welcome licensed HHAs/CNAs or motivated candidates willing to become certified. You will travel to patient homes across the service area, receive weekly pay, and have access to ongoing training and opportunities at other PurposeCare locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of state-approved HHA training or CNA/STNA credential; or 1.5 years of caregiving experience.
• HHA certification or equivalent credential as required by Ohio regulations.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and ROM per care plan.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Support medication self-administration through reminders (no independent med administration).
• Monitor and report patient condition to the supervising nurse.
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards.
• Travel reliably to patient homes across the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care support including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises per care plan
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Support medication self-administration through reminders (no independent med administration)
• Monitor and report patient condition and changes to the supervising nurse
• Take and record basic vital signs when trained and assigned
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly client environment
• Assist with linens and light client laundry as appropriate
• Use safety equipment properly (rails, supports, stools, etc.)
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards
• Travel reliably to patient homes and assigned visits across your service area
• Complete required in-service training, including annual dementia education

What success looks like

• Patients feel safe, respected, and well cared for
• On-time arrival and dependable attendance for assigned visits
• Positive feedback from patients and families
• Completion of required certifications and training on schedule
• Strong communication with supervising nurse and care team

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program, CNA certificate, STNA license or at least 1.5 years of recent caregiving experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, nursing home, or hospital settings.
• HHA certification or equivalent credential as required by Ohio state regulations.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience caring for seniors or individuals with chronic conditions, disabilities, or dementia.
