Minimum requirements:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position
  • Must be 18 or older
Desired qualifications:
  • Retail experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Second language: speaking, reading, and/or writing
Key responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil codes.
  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products efficiently.
  • Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special promotions.
  • Stay current with advertisements and seasonal promotions.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies.
  • Observe scheduled shift hours and demonstrate creative merchandising.
  • Condition products according to company policy.
  • Perform cashier functions and follow all merchandising, customer service, safety, and loss prevention rules.
  • Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment needs.
  • Report customer or employee accidents, safety risks, illegal activity, and perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
