CU SoCal in Anaheim Hills, CA is seeking a Home Equity Specialist to educate Members about home equity loans and lines of credit. You will originate, process, and pre-underwrite home equity loans, building portfolios and guiding Members through the loan process.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of similar sales/origination experience in Real Estate or Mortgage Sales, Credit Union, Banking, Financial Services or Lending companies.
• Strong working knowledge with Encompass and Symitar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain superior knowledge of CU SoCal home equity products for branches and Member Care Center.
• Identify financial needs of Members and potential members.
• Obtain home equity applications and inform Members of rates, loan programs and promotions.
• Ensure loan documentation is complete and compliant with regulations.
• Review credit, income, asset, and property documentation to submit packages to underwriting.
• Communicate with Members, manage expectations, and coordinate timelines through closing.
• Monitor pipeline to help fund loans within 30 days of origination.
• Adhere to C.A.R.E. 4 Guide expectations and Brand Standards; work a hybrid schedule as needed.

We are hiring a Home Equity Specialist who will educate Members and potential Members about home equity loans and lines of credit. Will build home equity loan portfolios by originating, processing, and pre-underwriting home equity loans.

Business Hours

Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 5:30PM & Saturday 9:00AM – 1:00PM

*Based upon business needs, our positions may require working flexible hours, including rotating Saturdays

This position in based in Anaheim Hills CA with the opportunity to work a hybrid-remote schedule which consist of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of similar sales/origination experience in Real Estate or Mortgage Sales, Credit Union, Banking, Financial Services or Lending companies.
• Strong working knowledge/experience with Encompass and Symitar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written communication, human relations and negotiating skills.
• Proficient math skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate averages and percentages.
• Maintain a working knowledge of policies and procedures necessary to effectively perform job duties.
• Excellent Member Service skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The Home Equity Specialist performs a variety of duties within established department policies, guidelines, and procedures, under the direction of the Production Manager/Vice President of Real Estate.
• Acts as subject matter expert on home equity lending for branches and Member Care Center by maintaining superior working knowledge of CU SoCal home equity products.
• Identifies financial needs of Members and potential members.
• Obtains home equity applications and informs Members of current rates, loan programs and promotions.
• Discloses all home equity files timely and in accordance with all applicable regulations.
• Ensures that borrower loan documentation is complete, accurate and complies with company requirements including calculating debt ratios, verifying income, reading credit reports, and entering liabilities in our systems.
• Reviews credit, income, asset, and property documentation to submit an approvable package to underwriting
• Communicates regularly with Members, manages expectations, provides assistance throughout the loan process, obtains any necessary outstanding items, and shares turn times and closing dates.
• Ensures that all loan files meet all regulatory/RESPA requirements through all phases of the loan file.
• Informs member of terms and conditions of approved loans, lending policies, stipulations, collateral requirements, and repayment terms.
• Monitors home equity pipeline to help ensure loans are funded within 30 days of origination.
• Complete understanding and active application the C.A.R.E. 4 Guide expectations and the Brand Communications Standards Accountability Philosophy.
• Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.
• Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Pay Scale: Min. $24.44 / Mid. $30.74 / Max. $36.07* an hour

*Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
