Job summary

Van Meter is seeking a Delivery Driver to provide safe, efficient delivery of products while maintaining professional customer relations. The role emphasizes accuracy, effective communication, and adherence to company safety standards on every route.

You will support sales efforts by ensuring timely deliveries, obtaining proof of delivery, and assisting with loading/unloading while meeting DOT requirements and maintaining vehicle readiness for varied shifts, including back-up coverage when

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to meet and maintain qualifications as required by the DOT.
• Class A required.
• Six months previous delivery or courier experience preferred.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs.
• Knowledge of Eclipse preferred.
• Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus.
• Ability to operate lift truck equipment.
• Ability to work a flexible shift.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to local customers and obtain proof of delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Load and unload the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives.
• Maintain a high standard of driving performance.
• Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Communicate effectively with department leads and branches on all job related issues.
• Maintain vehicle and shipping and receiving dock cleanliness and order.
• Follow processes and procedures in place for effective job performance.
• Participate in company process improvement initiatives.
• Provide coverage in areas in which staffing is low and work level is high.
