Job summary

The City of Olathe is seeking a dependable full-time CDL driver to operate a recycling or yard waste collection vehicle. This role offers a $4,000 new hire bonus, local routes, home daily, and competitive pay. Schedule is typically 6:30 a.m.

to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with holidays observed. Work outdoors and provide essential public service to the Olathe community. You will perform pre-trip inspections, monitor vehicle condition, drive safely, and ensure on-time route completion while

Qualifications

Requires valid Kansas Class A or B CDL.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a commercial collection truck on assigned recycling or yard waste routes.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance issues.
Drive in accordance with safety procedures, traffic laws, and City standards.
Provide reliable service to residents across the community.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Support safe, efficient route completion as part of the Solid Waste team.
