Basic Function

Ramsey County is hiring Park Aides to work in seasonal temporary positions (6 months or less) over the summer season!

There are multiple vacancies available. We're currently recruiting for 4 different types of positions. You can fill out one application and indicate which types of positions you are interested in.

When : May 24-Sept. 1, 2025 (Memorial weekend through Labor Day)

Where : Various regional parks / trails

Estimated hours : Each shift is 2 hours but can be assigned to multiple 2-hour shifts throughout the day based on availability. Counts will take place between 8 AM and 8 PM, with the last count starting at 6 PM. The number of shifts may vary daily and weekly.

In this position, staff will go to various regional park and trail locations throughout Ramsey County Park system. Responsibilities include showing up on time, counting park users as they enter, submitting counts timely, assisting in user surveys, taking counts of visitors, assisting patrons, and performing related duties as assigned.

Park Maintenance :

Where : Ramsey County's parks, trails, and facilities.

Estimated hours : Weekdays, 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; weekends, 5 a.m.-1 p.m. Full-time hours are available with some flexibility. Shifts are Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday. Typical workweek is 40 hours, with opportunities for more.

This role involves assisting maintenance and operations staff by cleaning, trash removal, raking, shoveling, mowing, trimming, and related tasks across parks, golf courses, ice arenas, and the Nature Center.

Golf Grounds Crew - THESE VACANCIES HAVE BEEN FILLED

Where : Keller Golf Course

Estimated hours : Weekdays, 6 a.m. or earlier; some weekends. Both full-time and part-time options available.

This position involves operating equipment like trimmers, mowers, blowers, and utility vehicles to maintain the golf course. It offers outdoor work, flexible scheduling, uniforms, and potential golf benefits.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Sufficient to perform duties.

Experience : None required.

Substitution : Equivalent education and experience acceptable.

Other : Must be at least 16 years old.
