Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Tennessee is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to learn quality home care fundamentals and support seniors and people with disabilities living independently. This role offers flexible hours, consistent pay, and a path into a growing healthcare company.

As a DSP, you will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping and transportation, support medication self-administration, and observe changes in condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Able to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.
