Home-Based Therapists provide mental health services directly in clients’ homes, offering a convenient and comfortable setting for therapy. Home-Based Therapists conduct individual, family, or group therapy sessions to address various mental health issues, provide crisis intervention, and develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough assessments and diagnoses. Additionally, they manage cases by coordinating services and resources, advocate for clients’ needs, and help build support systems. Home-based therapists also maintain accurate documentation, collaborate with other professionals, and continuously evaluate and adjust treatment plans to ensure effective care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family, or group therapy sessions to clients in their homes
  • Offer immediate support and intervention during crises
  • Foster healthy and productive family communication
  • Transport families and children to necessary appointments and meetings
  • Evaluate clients’ mental health conditions, symptoms, and stress factors to diagnose and create treatment plans
  • Teach clients coping skills, stress management techniques, and other strategies to improve their mental health
  • Maintain working relationships with referral sources by promptly responding to all communication requests
  • Attend supervision, training, and other meetings as scheduled
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case files according to program timeframes and requirements
  • Create and maintain a weekly schedule as dictated by clients (which may include evenings and weekends), utilizing and updating the Microsoft Outlook calendar

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related human service field
  • Active and unrestricted LSW, LMFT-A, LMHC-A, LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC license in the state of practice
  • Currently eligible to be enrolled as a provider in the Medicare program or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable) prior to starting a new position
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to use a private car to transport oneself and others in compliance with state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing home-based work
  • Experience working with the juvenile probation population
  • Experience providing therapeutic services to individuals and families

The salary range for this role is $49,300 to $96,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
