Job summary

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice Inc is seeking a Personal Care Attendant to provide compassionate in-home support to clients, helping with daily living tasks and promoting independence.

You’ll perform personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and offer companionship, while following each client’s Plan of Care and reporting changes to your supervisor. CVHHH is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper body mechanics, safe use of mechanical and adaptive equipment, and infection control practices, including universal precautions
• Ability to provide emotional support and foster positive social interactions with clients and their families
• Experience assisting with bathing, dressing, ambulation, transfers, self-administered medications, and other personal care needs outlined in a Plan of Care
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations
• Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and occasional schedule adjustments in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of and commitment to emergency reporting procedures
• A compassionate, dependable, and client-focused approach to care

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living
• Support clients with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and cooking
• Run errands and provide assistance with daily routines
• Offer meaningful companionship and emotional support
• Monitor client well-being and communicate changes to your supervisor
• Follow each client's individualized Plan of Care to ensure safe, high-quality care
