Provides in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing a skill-based, solution-focused model to help families adopt positive solutions to problems through the teaching of skills and behavioral techniques, accessing community resources and support.

Pay Rates Starting at: $20.50 - $23.50/hr +
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides intervention services for IHFS.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with families and community service resources.
- Provides training and support in developing and utilizing functional skills to families and individuals associated with the families.
- Assesses problems, provides care to youth and families, and monitors progress towards goals, updating service plans regularly.
- May provide outreach and prevention services, including increasing community awareness and offering informational and educational programs to youth and families.
- Maintains appropriate level of contact with families, remains available 24/7 for crisis intervention as needed.
- Promotes family self-determination by helping families access community services and resources.
- Educates families on health, medical attention, and preventive health care.
- Models professionalism and respect.
- Meets families and children at various locations; uses own vehicle for travel and transportation, with mileage reimbursement.
Completes administrative functions for IHFS.
- Prepares and submits reports and recommendations regarding caseload status.
- Reports critical incidents following guidelines.
- Prepares documentation and service plans promptly.
- Implements supervisor feedback.
- Ensures compliance with standards and regulations.
- May be trained as a certified Common Sense Parenting Instructor and conduct courses as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of risk assessment and crisis intervention.
- Understanding of youth care regulations and policies.
- Ability to work independently, with integrity, and effectively with youth and support agencies.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Effective communication skills while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Boys Town model and fidelity of care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate of Arts in Human Services or related field + 4 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year working with children and families.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to travel.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours and provide crisis response.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in community-based programs or Boys Town programs.

- Must maintain physical and emotional endurance for stressful situations, working in diverse environments including outdoor and home visits.
