Job summary

Wayfinder Family Services seeks a Child Development Specialist to provide home-based early intervention for children from birth to age 6 with visual impairment or multiple disabilities in the Los Angeles area.

The role covers catchment areas of East LA Regional Center, San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center, and South Central Regional Center. Hourly wage range is $23.00–$26.00. Travel up to 50% and day shift are involved.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Special Education or related field from an accredited university.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Familiarity with services for infants/young children with vision loss in CA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct intervention in the child's natural environment: home, center-based site, or hospital.
• Conduct functional vision and developmental assessments using various tools and informants.
• Develop and implement IFSP outcomes in collaboration with family and education team.
• Assist families in transitioning to public school or preschool (Birth to 3).
• Collaborate with medical/educational providers to identify children with vision loss.
• Maintain client case files and documentation (Face Sheet, IFSPs, IEPs, etc.).
• Other duties as outlined in the position description.
