Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in childcare/elder care/direct support for developmentally disabled persons or related human services experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
• Must complete mandatory trainings as required by the Agency.
• Current Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid, CPR certifications.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing of the Individual served, seek assistance as needed.
• Serve as a Mandated Reporter and report abuse/neglect immediately.
• Monitor home site for safety, cleanliness and upkeep and address issues.
• Establish rapport with the Individual and support daily routines.
• Assist with activities of daily living as applicable to abilities.
• Schedule and accompany medical appointments and report to physician.
• Produce accurate medical documentation and charts.
• Provide nutritionally sound food options and education on food choices.
• Follow Behavioral Protocol Plans and manage challenging behaviors.
• Communicate professionally with Individuals, co-workers, guardians and others.
