Job summary

North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking an Aquatic Species Supervisor within the Helene Restoration Division. The role is home-based and oversees eight permanent staff across four Conservation Biologist I and four Wildlife Conservation Technician I positions to monitor and restore aquatic species.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in wildlife or fisheries management, fisheries science, zoology, or a biological science, or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution.
• Four years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff monitoring and restoring aquatic species as part of the Aquatic Species Team.
• Coordinate work across divisions and with partners to meet recovery and conservation goals.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to align with recovery objectives.
