Job summary

MobilityWorks in Illinois seeks a Home Access Installation Technician to install and service adaptive equipment for accessibility needs. You will perform mechanical and electrical installations of stairlifts, patient lifts, ramps, and ceiling lifts, and ensure safety and quality on every job.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to read blueprints, and the skill to work independently outdoors or indoors with regular business hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Experience installing and servicing stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, ramps, and ceiling lifts.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and insurability for the use of company vehicles.
• Strong electrical and wiring skills, including low-voltage electrical experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Background in garage doors, HVAC, or construction is a plus.
• General construction experience is required.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including the use of Salesforce and manufacturer applications.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical installations and maintenance of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain and repair previously installed equipment and adaptations.
• Conduct thorough testing to ensure quality of installations and repairs.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment and adaptations.
• Follow written service orders accurately to complete tasks.
• Uphold a high level of quality in adherence to company standards.
