Job summary

The Indianapolis Zoo is hiring Holiday Lighting Team Members to install and repair Christmas lights for Christmas at the Zoo (CATZ). You will help hang displays, check bulbs, and assist with tree setup, working with the Custodial or Park Operations team.

Flexible weekend, holiday and overtime availability is required. This entry‑level role pays $13.00 per hour and involves outdoor work in various weather, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently, and following all safety

Job description

Although we are still enjoying the warmth of summer, preparations are already underway for one of the Zoo's most anticipated events of the year, Christmas at the Zoo! We are hiring Holiday Lighting Team Members to help create a memorable holiday experience for our guests by joining our Holiday Lighting Team.

Members will be responsible for hanging Christmas lights, repairing displays and assisting with placement of displays for Christmas at the Zoo event. Once holiday lights are installed and Christmas at the Zoo begins, team members will join the Custodial or Park Operations Department. Shift schedules may vary. Candidates must have flexible availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. The pay rate for this exciting, entry-level position is $13.00/ hr.

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, w hich include inclement weather, cold and hot temperatures, and humidity.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders, uneven terrain, and elevated areas while safely installing lights.
• Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.

Employment at the Indianapolis Zoo is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment testing including a background check, motor vehicle check (if applicable) and a drug test.
