Job summary

The Salvation Army Bishop Service Center is seeking a Christmas Kettle Coordinator to lead the local kettle campaign in Bishop, CA. This on-site, full-time role will oversee planning, locations, staffing, and compliance, ensuring a successful holiday fundraising effort.

Responsibilities include securing kettle sites, hiring workers, training volunteers, managing schedules, and ensuring all paperwork and donations are processed according to policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred for coordination roles.
• Experience in nonprofit sector is valued.
• CA driver’s license is required.
• Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multi-tasking, time-management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and ensure the success of the kettle program.
• Visit kettle locations before the season; secure locations.
• Scout new kettle locations.
• Obtain permissions, insurance certificates, and approvals.
• Hire workers for the kettle season.
• Organize and promote kettle awareness.
• Orient and train kettle workers.
• Schedule workers and volunteers.
• Ensure paperwork is collected and processed.
• Review daily reports and adjust kettle placement and schedules as needed.
• Address issues as they arise and escalate as required.
• Count and process money per policy.
• Process payroll information for staff.
• Prepare thank-you letters for The Salvation Army.
• Other related duties.
