Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a bell ringer to act as a friendly, positive representative at approved kettle locations during the holiday season.

You will greet customers, ring the bell, and help collect donations while maintaining professionalism and a respectful demeanor. This role emphasizes punctuality, neat appearance, and clear communication with the kettle team.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Criminal background check may be required for Protect the Mission policies.
• Be neatly groomed, friendly, respectful, honest and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Show up to work on time at the assigned location.
• Stand and ring the bell at kettle stand.
• Wear proper identification given by The Salvation Army.
• Record worked hours on the time slip each day, including lunch breaks.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Say “Merry Christmas,” “Thank you,” God Bless you, etc.
• Communicate with Kettle Coordinator when unable to report to work or changes.
• Do not eat, drink, be on the phone, or under any controlled substance while working.
• Keep work area clean.
• Perform other assignments as directed.
