Job Overview
The Executive Meeting Manager is responsible for proactively prospecting, facilitating, and closing group and catering business opportunities, as well as event execution for their assigned hotel(s). Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to complete their responsibilities; for OEM associates, overtime applies and is calculated accordingly.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required with at least 1 year of experience as a Sales Manager, Catering Sales Manager, or Sales Coordinator.
- Experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
- Experience in internet research and database mining.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation, persuasion, and influence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with strong organization and presentation skills.
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
- Strategic, analytical, and proactive approach with flexibility.
- Skills in problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, negotiation, and contract interpretation.
- Effective presentation skills for one-on-one and group situations.
- Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and market competition.
Job Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and revenue goals and solicitation call targets.
- Monitor market trends within your segment.
- Adhere to company regulations, standards, and sales metrics.
- Develop knowledge of hotel operations and policies.
- Follow proper event management procedures, including BEO creation, F&B forecasting, and room block management.
- Review catering contracts and banquet/catering event orders.
- Identify customer needs and respond accordingly.
- Prospect for new business using creative and innovative methods.
- Participate in daily RevMax meetings to evaluate business value against hotel objectives.
- Negotiate room rates and function space to maximize revenue using yield management techniques.
- Use revenue management tools to inform decisions and maximize revenue.
- Analyze trends related to pricing, occupancy, and revenue flow.
- Capitalize on hotel strengths and competitor weaknesses.
- Seek process improvements and enhance sales systems.
- Respond to all leads and RFPs within 24 hours.
- Maintain accurate internal communication.
- Conduct site inspections, local sales calls, and attend trade shows and client events.
- Promote hotel through community involvement and networking.
- Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned by management.
