Turner Industries in Pass Christian, MS seeks a non-exempt Hole Watch / Fire Watch to monitor safety and respond to emergencies, including shutting down welding equipment and directing evacuations.

This role requires high school or equivalent, Turner qualification training, ability to operate a plant radio, and adherence to safety policies; post-offer drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Turner qualification training for Firewatch/Holewatch.
• Must be able to operate a plant radio to call Plant Operations and Foreman in case of an emergency.
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• In case of an emergency, contact employees on the job and shut down equipment.
• Direct employees to the correct evacuation route.
• Stay awake and alert at all times.
• Maintain constant contact with workers and know location of safety equipment.

We are seeking a Hole Watch / Fire Watch for a position in Pass Christian, MS. In case of a gas or chemical spill, fire, or other emergency, the Firewatch / Holewatch position contacts employees on the job and shuts down all equipment (welding machines, etc. and directs the employees to the correct evacuation route). Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent

Functional Requirements:

• knows who and how to contact in case of an emergency on a job
• perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation:

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
