Job summary

Lippert in Goshen, IN is seeking a dedicated Hoist Operator for the powder coat department. You will ensure safe, efficient operation of the hoist and support the flow of production on 1st and 2nd shifts.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma and forklift experience; training is provided. This role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Lift truck operator experience preferred (training available).

Responsibilities

  • Operate hoist in a safe manner at all times.
  • Stack chassis in a safe and efficient position.
  • Inspect that wood spacers are in good/safe condition.
  • Report any defect that is present on product.

Summary/Objective:

This position is responsible forthe operation and flow of the hoist station within the powder coat department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily on the floor/in the work, could be exposed to elements (heat, snow, etc.)
  • May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate machinery.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Lift truck operator experience preferred (training available).

  3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements.
  4. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects.

  6. Must demonstrate competency in coating procedure.
  7. Must be able to rotate to other production positions as the need arises or as is deemed necessary.
  8. Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including coating gums, pumps, compressors, heating units, tape measures, etc.
  9. Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds.
  10. Must possess successful problem-solving skills.
  11. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow team members, customers, etc.
  12. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations.
  13. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.
Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The team member is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position for 1st and 2nd shifts

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Manufacturing/industry experience.
