Qualifications

  • Experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to judge clearances when passing through doorways and aisles.
  • Knowledge of storage layout to locate and place items without detailed instructions.
  • Skill in maneuvering forklifts in tight spaces and balancing loads.
  • Ability to determine load lift height and balance before placement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage.
  • Supply Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
  • Stage product to be moved or shipped.
  • Rack unused supplies and maintain inventory of type, amount and location of items.
  • Transport and process manufacturing paper by-products.
  • Empties trash hoppers and performs other housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Performs routine daily inspections on hoist and reports maintenance needs.
  • May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck's moving parts.
  • May include changing LP/Propane
  • Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
  • Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
  • Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions
  • Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads
  • Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in the handling of controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
  • Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
  • Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced
Additional Information

1st shift needed: M-F 6a - 2:30p

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $17.65 to $26.55 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include [a sign-on bonus of $X,XXX], overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand‑by pay.
