Job summary

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This on-site role operates equipment to move finished product for shipping and storage, while supplying materials to the Manufacturing Department as needed and staging products for transport.

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the forklift and its load are and the forklift's load capacity.
• Ability to identify doorway/aisle dimensions needed for forklift movement and load placement.
• Knowledge of storage area layout to locate and place items without detailed instructions.
• Skilled in moving forklifts in tight spaces.
• Greater knowledge than Hoist Operator 1 for driving forklift/clamp trucks.
• Skilled in starting, stopping, reversing, and driving forklifts through narrow aisles and ramps.
• Must be able to recognize if the forklift can lift the load and if the load is balanced.

Responsibilities

• Supplies Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
• Stages product to be moved or shipped.
• Racks unused supplies and maintains an inventory of type, amount and location of items.
• Transports and processes manufacturing paper by-products.
• Empties trash hoppers and performs other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Performs routine daily inspections on hoist and reports maintenance needs.
• May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck parts.
• May include changing LP/Propane.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures including hazardous waste handling, lock out-tag out, hearing and eye protection.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
• Training and mentoring new and existing employees to improve knowledge and productivity.

• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
• Training and mentoring new and existing employees, ensuring consistent knowledge of company policies, procedures, and best practices to improve team performance and productivity.

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
• Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
• Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions
• Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads
• Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in the handling of controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $17.00 - $22.67 / hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand‑by pay.
