Job summary

RRD is hiring for a 2nd shift forklift/warehouse role in Texas. The position involves operating forklifts to move finished goods, supplying materials to the manufacturing line, and staging products for shipment.

You will manage inventory locations, perform safety and housekeeping duties, and assist with maintenance checks on hoists and battery systems. The role requires awareness of load capacities, clearances, and safe handling of hazardous materials as applicable, with overtime and shift

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts in confined spaces and warehouse settings.
• Ability to assess doorway and aisle clearances for safe forklift navigation.
• Understanding of hoist operations and battery maintenance.

2nd Shift: 2:30‑11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage.
• Supply the Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
• Stage product to be moved or shipped.
• Rack unused supplies and maintain an inventory of type, amount and location of items.
• Transport and process manufacturing paper by‑products.
• Empty trash hoppers and perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform routine daily inspections on hoists and report maintenance needs.
• Perform battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging, replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles, and lubricating truck moving parts.
• Change LP/Propane as required.
• Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous waste, lock‑out/tag‑out rules, and hearing and eye protection policies.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Know how high, wide, and long the forklift truck and its load are, and how much it can lift.
• Identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the forklift, and how high and wide a shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load.
• Understand the layout of the storage area to find and place items without detailed instructions.
• Be skilled in moving forklifts in tight spaces.
• Have greater knowledge and skill than a Hoist Operator 1 in handling controls for driving forklifts and/or clamp trucks.
• Skillfully operate controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklifts through narrow aisles, ramps, and in/out of railroad cars and trucks.
• Recognize whether the forklift can lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.

Benefits

Pay: $17.50 to $22.60 per hour. Overtime and shift differential may apply.
