Description: This is an exciting time for the Park Ridge Park District, Oakton Sports Complex will soon be re-opening its doors to the newly renovated facility. Come work at the new state of the art facility and be part of the excitement. We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and hockey-knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Hockey Supervisor. This position directly oversees Learn-to-Play-Hockey classes, as well as Public Skate staff. Participants will range in age from two to adult. Skill levels will range from first-time skaters to advanced curriculum levels. This position will be responsible for teaching the students how to skate/play, while following all rules and policies as set forth by the Park District and the Oakton Facility Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining a structured class for the appropriate age and level of all participants, safeguarding students, tracking attendance, evaluating for class advancement, and communicating with parents.

Qualifications: This position requires a background in skating and/or hockey and a comfort on the ice as it relates to skating and hockey-specific skills. Must have an approved coaching certification, or be able to acquire it within 6 months of hire. Must be CPR/AED and first-aid certified or have the ability to become certified (through our district) within 90 days of employment. Must have a working knowledge of school age children’s developmental stages and behavioral techniques, as well as Oakton’s skating developmental techniques or the ability and willingness to learn.

Availability: Weeknights and weekends. Schedule is dependent on registrations.
