Qualifications

• Experience coaching hockey at preferably head coach level.
• Knowledge of hockey fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
• Ability to build relationships with student-athletes and lead a multi-school cooperative program.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Meets district, CIAC, and state coaching certification requirements (CPR/First Aid, concussion).

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise all practices, games, and team activities.
• Develop a program philosophy emphasizing skill development, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.
• Foster an inclusive team culture for all student-athletes.
• Monitor and support academic, behavioral, and athletic progress of players.
• Communicate with players, families, athletic directors, school administration, and opponents.
• Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches and other staff.
• Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and transportation with athletic departments.
• Ensure compliance with CIAC, conference, and district policies; safety first.
• Attend meetings, clinics, and professional development opportunities.
• Assist in long-term development of the hockey program.
