Job summary

Tulane University in New Orleans is seeking a Histocompatibility Technologist to perform HLA typing, HLA antibody screening, and crossmatching to support the Transplant and other Programs. The employee will have quality control and quality assurance responsibilities.

After one year of training, the technologist will apply to take the Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) exam, with two attempts provided to pass as part of the promotion plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
• Experience in histocompatibility or other clinical or research-focused laboratory testing preferred.
• Applicants meeting criteria for an HLA Technologist position may be offered that position.

• Willingness to provide on-call/overtime services is mandatory.
• Knowledge of computers and common software such as word processing and spreadsheets.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, providers, and other personnel.
