Job description

We are looking for an experienced HL7 Integration Specialist with advanced skills in Rhapsody Integration Engine and JavaScript.

Role Overview:

You will play a pivotal role in connecting our platform with electronic health records (EHRs), health information exchanges (HIEs), and other clinical systems. Your responsibilities include building, customizing, and supporting interfaces that enable real-time, bi-directional data flow between our cloud-based platform and external healthcare systems. This is a hands-on technical position suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced health tech environment and is passionate about improving healthcare through interoperability.

Location & Contract:

Remote (US), Contract

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement data integrations using InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS between HIE partners and internal systems.
2. Debug and resolve issues related to HIE connected Healthcare participants.
3. Develop XSLTs and DTLs for message transformations involving CCDA, FHIR, HL7, and SDA formats.
4. Create design and technical specifications based on business requirements.

Mandatory Skills:

• 3+ years of experience with HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and healthcare data standards.
• Hands-on expertise with Rhapsody Integration Engine, including filters, mapping, and communication components.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for data transformation and logic scripting.
• Experience with APIs (RESTful/SOAP), JSON, XML, and structured data formats.
• Experience in cloud environments and SaaS health tech products.
• Deep understanding of clinical workflows and data integration in digital health.

Good to Have:

• Previous experience in digital health, HIE, or EHR vendor companies.
• Knowledge of SMART on FHIR or OAuth2 healthcare APIs.
• Experience with EHR systems like Epic.
• HL7 or Rhapsody certification.
