Job summary

VoxelCloud, Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a HL7 and DICOM Software Engineer (Contractor) to build HL7/FHIR interfaces between its AI medical imaging platform and hospital systems.

You will work with IT teams, clients (hospitals) and vendors to integrate diverse networks. The role involves coding, reviewing, testing, and deploying solutions on on-premises or cloud environments, with on-going maintenance after installation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience.
• DICOM, HL7 2.0 and FHIR knowledge required.
• HL7 3.0 experience preferred.
• Familiar with Python, C++, or C#.
• Experience with PACS, EMR, PMs and clinical systems.
• Agile methodology experience.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create HL7/FHIR interfaces between internal AI system and hospital systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams, clients (hospitals) and IT vendors.
• Ensure integration of heterogeneous systems and secure data transfer within on-prem and/or cloud networks.
• Write, review, and test code for various systems.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance after deployment.

HL7 and DICOM Software Engineer - (CONTRACTOR)

• Create HL7/FHIR compatible interfaces between internal A.I. system and hospital systems
• Work closely with IT teams, clients (usually hospitals), and various IT vendors
• Responsible for ensuring integration of various heterogeneous systems and networks and transfer of patient information within on-prem network and/or cloud network and to ensure everything runs smoothly
• Other responsibilities include writing codes, reviewing codes, and testing various systems
• Once deployed to the customer's site, troubleshooting and on-going maintenance is expected.

• Industry experience 3+ years
• DICOM communication protocols, HL7 2.0 and FHIR standard knowledge required
• HL7 3.0 preferred
• Familiar with Python or C++ or C#
• Must be experienced with PACS, electronic medical records (EMR) and patient management systems (PMs), as well as other clinical systems
• Agile methodology experience
• Strong analytical mind and a confident decision maker
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate well, both technically and interpersonally
• Ability to balance competing demands and adapt to changing priorities
• Python experience preferred
