Job summary

The Los Angeles LGBT Center seeks a Physician, Primary Care with HIV and gender-affirming care expertise to join the Medicine program within Health Services. The role offers trauma-informed, culturally competent care for LGBTQ adults, including those living with HIV.

You will provide comprehensive primary care, HIV management, and gender-affirming care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. California licensure and DEA registration are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of or experience working with LGBTQ community and related issues.
• Passion for Center’s mission to serve LGBTQ people.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Board-certified in Family Medicine OR Internal Medicine OR Infectious Diseases.
• Licensed to practice medicine in California; valid for full-time practice.
• DEA registration and BLS certification required.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, sex- and body-positive care; harm-reduction approach.
• AAHIVM certification or plan to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in HIV-related care including STD diagnosis and treatment, PEP/PrEP, and gender-affirming therapy (preferred).
• Spanish-speaking ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care including primary care, chronic disease management, sexual health, and gender-affirming services.
• Manage adults living with HIV: start/modify ART, monitor status, prevent infections, routine HIV care.
• Conduct clinical encounters: history, exams, orders, differential diagnoses; document plans.
