Job description

Evening (2nd) Shift

Responsible for performing histological procedures to aid in diagnosis, research, and instruction. Tasks include training, monitoring workflow, and initiating safety and compliance activities.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
2. Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
3. Initiates and participates in quality, safety, and compliance programs.
4. Demonstrates advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
5. Performs area-specific support and clinical activities.
6. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $26.76 - $42.82 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Clinical education in a Histology Technician School (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or the minimum required for HTL(ASCP).
• Experience: 1 year experience in a Histology Laboratory.
• Licensure: ASCP or equivalent certification required.

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping; Repetitive motions (embedding, microtomy, cover slipping). Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
