Histotechnologist - Full Time, Days

Status: Full Time

Shift: First

Job Summary:

Responsible for sectioning, staining, and mounting tissue specimens in preparation for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. Assists the Pathologist in examining submitted tissue specimens and subsequent preparations. Performs duties in accordance with CLIA '88 guidelines. Conducts quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, and troubleshooting. May also include clerical tasks, specimen collection, and related laboratory services.

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a minimum of 60 semester hours of biology and chemistry, or previous experience as a Histology Technician to qualify for the in-house training program. Qualification for the training program will be determined by the Clinical Laboratory leadership.
  • ASCP certification or eligibility for certification as a Histology Technician by ASCP is required within 6 months of completing the 1-year in-house training program.
