Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is seeking an experienced Histotech for the Anatomic Pathology department. The role involves accessioning, preparing pathology specimens, and performing histology procedures with quality control.

Primary duties include immunohistochemical staining, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation under supervision of Pathologists. CAP/JCAHO accredited lab

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Science or Applied Science (or equivalent) and completion of an accredited training program in Histotechnology.
• Two years histology work experience with an Associate degree in Science OR a High School Diploma and NAACLS accredited Histotechnology program may be considered.
• Current HT or HTL ASCP certification preferred. 1-3 years histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies accuracy of patient information and samples submitted for examination.
• Accessioning and billing of cytology and surgical specimens through LIS data entry.

Education

Associates Degree in Science or Applied Science

NAACLS accredited Histotechnology program

HT or HTL ASCP certification (preferred)
