We are seeking a Histotechnologist to join our client's dynamic team in CA, US.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support research projects by performing histological procedures, including tissue preparation, sectioning, standard staining, immunostaining, imaging, and image quantification.
Skills & Requirements:
- BS or MS in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Histology, Pathology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant histology experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, academic research, or a related laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with FFPE and fresh-frozen tissue workflows.
- Strong experience with tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and/or cryosectioning, and histological staining.
- Experience performing H&E and immunohistochemical staining.
- Experience using microscopy to assess tissue morphology and staining quality.
- Experience operating and performing routine maintenance on histology laboratory equipment.
- ASCP certification (HT or HTL) is desirable
- Experience in performing, optimizing, and implementing qualitative and quantitative tissue-based methodologies, ranging from tissue handling and processing, sectioning with microtome or cryostat, and histochemical staining, is required
- Experience developing, optimizing, or troubleshooting IHC, IF, ISH, or other tissue-based assays.
- Experience with automated immunostaining platforms such as Leica Bond RX, Biocare IntelliPATH, or comparable systems.
The Histotechnologist's responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of tissue, including grossing and embedding
- Sectioning tissue using various equipment, including cryostat, microtome, vibratome, and sliding-frozen microtome
- High-volume automated immunostaining
- Experience with chromogenic and fluorescence immunodetection (single and multiplex)
- Experience with automatic slide stainers such as Leica Bond Rx and Biocare IntelliPATH FLX is a plus
- Perform end-to-end histology workflows including tissue fixation, grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, imaging, and slide preparation.
- Work with both FFPE and fresh/frozen tissue samples across a variety of tissue types.
- Perform tissue sectioning using microtomes and cryostats; experience with additional sectioning platforms such as vibratomes or sliding microtomes is beneficial.
- Perform routine histological staining including H&E, nuclear counterstaining, and other special stains.
- Execute and support IHC, IF, and/or ISH assays, including both manual and automated staining workflows.
- Support single- and multiplex immunodetection using chromogenic and/or fluorescence-based methods
Compensation:
- $80 000 - $100 000 Per Annum
