Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Royal Oak, MI is seeking an entry level Histotechnician I to join our clinical laboratory team. This role provides on-the-job training and supports pathologists by preparing slides and performing basic histology tasks under supervision.

The position offers shift differential for second and third shifts, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth within a leading diagnostics company.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state licensure, if applicable (Required).
• NAACLS accredited Histotechnology program preferred.

Mansioni

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation under supervision.
• Process accessioning and reporting paperwork.
• Perform limited embedding and microtomy under direct supervision.
• Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining.
• Graduates of a NAACLS accredited histotechnology program can perform special stains.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated.
• Prepare specimen preparation of non-gynecological specimens after training.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment.
• Maintain filing of finished blocks and slides.
• Ensure safety, quality control/assurance standards are met.
