Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Histotechnician (HT) to prepare and process tissue samples for routine histology. The role involves fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining, under the supervision of pathologists.

Prepares and processes tissue samples for routine histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist. The histologic techniques include fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining of human and animal tissue for evaluation. The Histotechnician (HT) assures laboratories compliance in meeting the standards set forth by JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA and College of American Pathologist (CAP).
Associates degree from an accredited college/university with a combination of 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both).
At least 1 year of clinical laboratory work experience required.
HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent.
