JobDiva, Inc. in White Plains, NY is seeking a Histotechnician for a 3-month assignment. The role supports 1st and 2nd shift teams with hours 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

NYS laboratory license is required and the candidate will work under general supervision in histology preparation and QC. The position entails embedding, microtomy for selected specimens, H&E slide preparation, coverslipping, and assistance with special stains under supervisor guidance; maintain a clean, organized

Qualificações

• HT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible.
• A.A./A.S. degree or high school with 5 years full-time histotechnician experience in the last 10 years.

Responsabilidades

• Under supervision, prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologists.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Ensure proper tissue processing and embedding/microtomy for specified specimens.
• Prepare slides for Hematoxylin and Eosin staining.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides (manual or automated).
• Assist with special stains under supervisor approval.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment.
• File finished blocks and slides accurately.
• Adhere to QC policies and document QC activities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

3 Months Duration

• 1. Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s)


• 2. Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting.


• 3. Ensure proper tissue processing.


• 4. Under general supervision, perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types as defined by Histology Manager/Supervisor.


• 5. Prepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining.


• 6. Perform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated.


• 7. Under general supervision, perform special stains under approval of/at discretion of Histology Manager/Supervisor.


• 8. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipment.


• 9. Perform filing of finished blocks and slides.


• 10. Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activities.


• 11. Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.


• 12. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.


• 13. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.


• 14. Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1. A.A., A.S. degree and one year of experience within the last 10 years, OR H.S. education or equivalent and 5 years full-time acceptable experience as a Histotechnician within the last 10 years.


• 2. HT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible OR five years of full time experience in the last 10 years
