Job summary

Harba Solutions Inc. in California is seeking a Histology Technician to perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (H&E and special stains) for pathologist review.

You will operate and maintain histology equipment, prepare high quality slides, assist with IHC staining, and ensure accurate accessioning, labeling, and LIS documentation in a fast-paced lab.

Required 1–3+ years histology experience; ASCP HT/HTL certification preferred; flexibility for overtime.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field, or completion of an accredited histotechnology program.
• HT or HTL certification (ASCP) required or preferred, depending on placement
• 1 to 3+ years of histology laboratory experience, including tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precise tissue handling
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and documentation standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced lab environment
• Flexibility to work overtime or additional shifts based on business needs

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (H&E and special stains) according to established laboratory procedures
• Prepare high quality histology slides for pathologist review, ensuring proper orientation, thickness, and staining quality
• Operate and maintain histology equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, embedding stations, and stainers
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on lab equipment and troubleshoot as needed
• Accession, label, and track specimens accurately through the histology workflow
• Perform quality control checks and document results in compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment, following biohazard and chemical safety protocols
• Assist with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining procedures as needed
• Report and document any specimen or process discrepancies promptly
