Location: Lynn, MA | Full-Time | K–12 Public Charter | Salary: $55,000–$89,500 + bonuses

KIPP Academy Lynn is hiring Lead Teachers who are committed to equity, academic excellence, and student empowerment. We are looking for educators who can amplify the potential of our students through culturally responsive teaching and a learning environment that is joyful, affirming, and rigorous.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

  • Serve as a lead or co-lead in a classroom (may vary depending on school needs)
  • Deliver instruction that affirms and challenges every student
  • Internalize and prepare rigorous daily and unit lessons using high-quality resources
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
  • Set ambitious growth goals and develop clear plans to meet them
  • Analyze student data and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Implement school-wide culture and classroom management systems
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social progress

Professional and School-Wide Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-service summer training and ongoing weekly professional development
  • Obtain MTEL and SEI endorsements (with full support and funding from KIPP MA)
  • Engage in peer collaboration, instructional coaching, and curriculum planning
  • Take ownership of professional growth by applying feedback and refining your practice
  • Perform additional school duties such as coverage, transitions, lunch, and dismissal
  • Build strong relationships with students, caregivers, and colleagues
  • Maintain dependable attendance and proactive communication about any barriers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive academic results and build student relationships
  • Passion for your content area and a growth mindset about teaching
  • Deep belief in the potential of all students and commitment to equity
  • Must pass all required background checks

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $55,000–$89,500 (based on experience and education)
  • Signing bonus: $1,000
  • Retention bonus: $2,000 annually after year one
  • Advanced degree bonuses: $3,000 (first degree), $1,500 (second degree)
