Job summary

Justice Resource Institute (JRI) seeks a History Teacher for Pelham Academy, a residential treatment setting for adolescents, to deliver engaging lessons and therapeutic supports on site.

You will create structured plans, collaborate with the Special Education team, and join meetings with families to address student needs. A Bachelor's in Education and valid licensure or eligibility are required, plus a driver's license. Salary ranges from $52,000 to $94,000 per year with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for Massachusetts DESE licensure for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12 and/or Secondary Education.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
• Experience with grades 5-12 preferred.

Pelham Academy is a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Pelham provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be licensed or be eligible to be waived by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12 and/or Secondary Education licensure.
• Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred.
• Knowledge of the relevant content area.
• Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting students is required.
• At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students!
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
