Job summary

Xanterra Travel Collection seeks a Historic Preservation Maintenance Technician to live, work, and explore at Grand Canyon South Rim. You will perform cyclic maintenance and repair of historic structures under the Historic Preservation program, ensuring compliance with NEPA 106 and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.

This full-time, year-round role offers 40 hours weekly, with pay $18.05–$20.95 per hour, and benefits including housing, meals, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in Historic Preservation or related work (painting, carpentry, masonry).
• Skilled in the use of tools common to the trade.
• Knowledge of company facilities and locations desired.
• Must possess physical stamina for heavy outdoor labor.
• Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs cyclic maintenance and repair to historic structures at Grand Canyon South Rim, ensuring NEPA 106 and historic programmatic requirements are followed.
• Oversees exterior painting of historic structures at Grand Canyon South Rim.
• Produces and maintains professional quality work per the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
• Assists in Painting, Carpentry, Masonry, Metalwork, Logsmithing and other preservation tasks as needed.
• Works with scaffolding, fall protection, lead, and asbestos; follows safety requirements.
