Grand Canyon National Park Lodges is seeking a Historic Preservation Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering & Maintenance team at the Grand Canyon South Rim. You will perform maintenance and repair on historic structures, with a focus on painting and related trades, while adhering to federal preservation standards.

Responsabilidades

• Performs cyclic maintenance and repair to historic structures at Grand Canyon South Rim in compliance with NEPA 106.
• Oversees exterior painting of historic structures.
• Produces and maintains professional quality work per standards.
• Secures and stores materials and tools used on site.
• Assists in painting, carpentry, masonry, metalwork, and other historic preservation tasks.

Job Summary:
Perform cyclic maintenance and repair to historic structures related to the Historic Preservation Maintenance program at Grand Canyon South Rim.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $18.05 - $20.95 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Performs cyclic maintenance and repair to historic structures at Grand Canyon South Rim, ensuring that all NEPA 106 regulations and historic programmatic requirements are followed.
• Oversees the exterior painting of historic structures at Grand Canyon South Rim.
• Produces and maintains professional quality work at all times, within the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
• Must be accountable for the securing and storage of materials and tools used while performing work.
• Assists in Painting, Carpentry, Masonry, Metalwork, Logsmithing, and other historic preservation work as needed.
• Works with scaffolding, fall protection, lead, and asbestos.
• Complies with all current related safety and health requirements.
• Complies with all company and NPS construction policies and procedures.
• Commits to and practices the Company’s Environmental Policies and Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in Historic Preservation or related work (painting, carpentry, masonry), and skilled in the use of tools common to the trade.
• Demonstrated skill in producing and maintaining professional quality work.
• Knowledge of Company facilities and locations desired.
• Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment.
• Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days of start date and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
• Basic knowledge of construction and trade skills.

Physical Requirements include:

Frequently: Stand, walk, sit, handle, reach.

Occasionally: Climb, crawl, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 40lbs.
