Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha is hiring an entry level histology assistant to learn the preparation of tissue for analysis. You will work under licensed practitioners to support pathology services and ensure accurate, timely diagnoses.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• 60 semester hours from an accredited institution that include either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses with chemistry/biology requirements.
• BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the basic knowledge in the preparation of biological material for histological analysis/diagnosis.
• Support continuous improvement of laboratory services to ensure high quality and timely pathology information.
• Provide quality patient care and assist physicians and staff in a professional manner.
